This weekend was too short. I had testing Saturday morning and I almost forgot we had a 5th Ave. show on Sunday! I did not want to get out of bed today.
I e-mailed my cousin about a family reunion in Hawaii to celebrate our grandmother’s 7th year of her death, visit some our parent’s old haunts, and be tourists in a few places. I can’t wait! I only hope I can save enough money for this trip by then. Just over a year away!

I missed an entry for yesterday. I had to put Logan down for bed and give Vanessa a shower. Chris ended up working late last night which will equal into a nice paycheck later.
Today was one of those Fridays. The sun was shining, not many students on campus today, and I didn’t want to work. I managed to get a few things done, but it took extra effort. Monday will come and the work will still be there. I have to do testing on Saturday. I hear there will be over 400 middle school students and family on campus for a state or regional history competition. What fun. Wonder if they’ll meander their way to our building during testing.

Happy Birthday to me,
Happy Earth Day to you,
Happy Adminstrative Professional’s Day,
or whatever it is you do.
Today was a good day. A little quirky, but good overall. It rained all morning, but the sun managed to come out in the afternoon. We went out to dinner at Red Robin using our birthday coupons. Apparently, the little boy was being good before I got there. Of course, when I did arrive, he wants my iPod right away. I like free food.

Another beautiful day; another day of sneezing and coughing due to allergies. Still, it is worth it. Today was In-Service Day – a light work day. I am almost dreading tomorrow and the amount of work that has undoubtedly piled up.
BTW, I have been trying to use contractions, but for some bizzare reason, the apostrophe is opening a Quick Find window at the bottom of my screen. This is no doubt annoying. Also, the arrow keys stopped working and is moving the page up and down instead of moving the cursor within the writing area. Another annoyance. Makes me think I should have started with Blogspot instead.

The end of a great, lazy weekend. I wish I had more of those. My hubby and I ended it with a celebration of our upcoming birthdays: we went to The Keg Restaurant. It helps when we get birthday coupons for a 10 oz. prime rib dinner. Of course, we had to upgrade. It’s not often we get to go out on a date AND have money in the bank. This is one of the few times when I really enjoy my birthday. I’ve signed up with so many companies that I get free food: dinners, burgers, or desserts. Mmmm…
Today was beautiful. The weather finally felt like spring on the verge of summer; a cozy 70+ degree weather. I had a hard time getting back into a working mindset after lunch. I have to do it again tomorrow.

My brain does some weird things. For instance, during my shower, I somehow managed to think about the abolition of slavery, and I knew that Mississippi never ratified the Amendment. Why did this all of a sudden interest? I HAVE NO IDEA!! Again, DURING MY SHOWER! Then, curiosity got the better of me and I looked up the amendment. Turns out that Mississippi ratified the Amendment in 1995, but never notified the US Archivist so therefore, the ratification is not official. Again, this started DURING MY SHOWER! I swear, my brain goes to the weirdest places, especially during my shower. What’s worse is, it doesn’t seem like my brain turns off.
I can’t wait for tomorrow to end. Another weekend and the ability to sleep in both days. I hope it stays sunny.

Tax Day! Thankfully, I got mine done last Friday. It took me a while to figure out some items, but I think I got everything in there. I get to have some come back. Yea! Otherwise, I don’t have much to say… mainly because I’m to tired to think. I think I’ll turn in early. Well, earlier than midnight.

Yesterday, I had to sub for one of my mother-in-laws friends for “Slide-Ass Gin.” I’ve done this quite a few times before, so I think I’m a permanent sub. We got home after 9p and I wasn’t much in the mood of attending the computer. I managed to get to bed by 10:30-ish, yet didn’t get to sleep for another hour. Typical.
I had a good Easter weekend. It was somewhat lazy and not frantic at all. The kids had their Easter egg hunt Saturday afternoon right before the rain started. Sunday was pouring down rain and wind. We all had Easter dinner at Jackie’s (my mother-in-law). The only thing I really had to get done was the laundry. No testing, able to sleep in. Isn’t that what every weekend should be like?
At work, I have a new work-study student. The last two days were to get me caught up in filing, which she managed to accomplish. It took two days – 4 hours per day. That’s a lot of filing! Maybe I’ll be able to get a few things done now, or have her help organize my desk area.

I finally finished my taxes! This day started kinda rough with a bunch of “you can no longer do ___.” It didn’t get much better throughout the day. But at least it was Friday, it was payday, and the kids will go Easter egg hunting tomorrow. The highlight to end the day was to actually get my hubby to sit with me and review everything I entered on our tax return all the way through to submission. Time to have a good night’s sleep and sleep in tomorrow – which is actually today.

L was on his own today. Grandma put him on the bus and said he, of course, cried. The teacher wrote a note back to us saying that he had a good day at school; he cried for only 10 minutes! V was nice enough to let him play with her iTouch when they got home. The little stinker is really good with it. He’s figured out how to go from app to app and to press “OK” when a window pops up. I have a feeling he’s going to be a computer geek, a gadget geek, or all around high-techie.
Me, I had to return to work full time. My boss is so glad. My friend Christine was worried I’d found another job and didn’t tell her. As if I could afford to leave.
I’m almost done with our taxes and hope to complete it by this weekend. Considering the 15th is next Wednesday, I kinda have to!
