I finally finished my taxes! This day started kinda rough with a bunch of “you can no longer do ___.” It didn’t get much better throughout the day. But at least it was Friday, it was payday, and the kids will go Easter egg hunting tomorrow. The highlight to end the day was to actually get my hubby to sit with me and review everything I entered on our tax return all the way through to submission. Time to have a good night’s sleep and sleep in tomorrow – which is actually today.

L was on his own today. Grandma put him on the bus and said he, of course, cried. The teacher wrote a note back to us saying that he had a good day at school; he cried for only 10 minutes! V was nice enough to let him play with her iTouch when they got home. The little stinker is really good with it. He’s figured out how to go from app to app and to press “OK” when a window pops up. I have a feeling he’s going to be a computer geek, a gadget geek, or all around high-techie.
Me, I had to return to work full time. My boss is so glad. My friend Christine was worried I’d found another job and didn’t tell her. As if I could afford to leave.
I’m almost done with our taxes and hope to complete it by this weekend. Considering the 15th is next Wednesday, I kinda have to!

L had his first ride on the big yellow limo today. He had a meltdown getting on the bus, but according to the bus driver, he fell asleep the last 10 minutes to school. It sounds like his ride home was much better. I didn’t get to grandma’s house in time, but it sounds like he had a good ride home and was laughing, so no nap. Some background info: the bus that picked him up was late. Apparently, they forgot him. Then they told me his paperwork didn’t say he needed a car seat. I spoke to the teacher and she was upset at that information considering she sent that information to Transportation three weeks ago and they lost it. At least the bus drivers know. I hope tomorrow is uneventful since I won’t be there. It’ll all be up to grandma. I think I’m developing separation anxiety.

L’s second day at school was better than yesterday; he was very excited to go today. Grandma said he waved to Vanessa when she got on the bus and was eager to go when I came to take him to school. When I picked him up to take home, he wanted to ride the bus and was quite upset when he couldn’t go on. Other than that, the teacher said he went down the slide and had a smile on his face. Thankfully, I got a call from transportation and he is now scheduled. A bus will pick him up 20 minutes before school starts and will drop him off about an hour after school ends. This is because of all the students that attend the school, both ECEAP and special ed preschool. At least he’ll get a nap.

My son started special ed preschool today. So what do I do to prepare? Nothing, just make sure I work half days all week. I had to do the same with my daughter 12 years ago and just like last time, transportation messed up. They thought he was in the ECEAP program and they don’t have busses in our area in the afternoon. Well, one phone call to the teacher and she was mad, livid, and generally not a happy camper. L is special ed not ECEAP; therefore, he gets transportation round trip from home to school – just like his older sister does. Some things never change. Hopefully, this will be resolved within a couple of days.
L is in the afternoon session which goes 12:30p-3:10p. It was a beautiful sunny spring day when I dropped him off, and as predicted he had a total meltdown – totally expected. When I came to pick him up, I could hear him start to cry. I didn’t get to have much conversation with the teachers, but it sounds like I guess he didn’t have too tough a time at school. I can’t wait for him to start riding the bus. That ought to be a fun time for the bus driver.

I had to wake up extra early to get everything ready for testing today. I had to go around and post signs, get the testing material, and take everything back. I posted signs, but I didn’t notice Jon’s note where to place the signs until I took out the testing material. Oops. People still made it to the correct building and almost on time. I couldn’t find my name badge to let me into the student center to get the test materials. My twerper of a son had taken that out of my purse when he tries to get my iPod. But all in all, it was a good day. I came home, ate, and crashed for a couple hours. Didn’t sleep, but got to relax.

Today was another day for me to stay home and watch the kids. Even so, I still worked a few hours because I needed to get 130+ e-mails out to instructors. Tomorrow, I get to be Jon, Jr. for ACT testing, which means I have to wake up extra early and post directional signs. Jon has everything ready to go, he just physically can’t be there. All I’ll get is proctor pay… (whine). So, I need to shower and get to bed early. I think I’ll need to wake up around 5:30a just to be on the safe side. I’m a little nervous, but not. I’m sure my stomach will be doing flips tomorrow as I post the signs and hope get all the correct locations.

I keep thinking that I need a title for each entry, but seeing as how I named by blog “nothing original” and it’s 1:15a, I can’t come up with anything creative. So, I’ll just use the dates. This is actually an entry for Thursday, April 2, 2009. My hubby hogged the computer this evening so I wasn’t able to get on until now. I’m making him clean up the kitchen so I can have computer time. 🙂 The week is almost over which means my mother-in-law will be back and taking care of our daycare needs. This is the week every year that we really, really appreciate her and all she does for us. Every year, the school district’s spring break falls on the first week our our College’s spring quarter making me and hubby tag team on who takes care of the kids during the week. Tomorrow, I get to stay home and hopefully sleep in.
Snow in April?
Posted on: April 2, 2009
I had to stay home with the kids today because of daycare. Good thing too. Mother Nature played an April Fool’s joke on us: it snowed, but didn’t stick. In addition, I’ve been a bit under the weather, so was able to rest somewhat. I slept in until 9a and later took a nap with L. I was quite groggy. Then I needed to get ready for my Arbonne table at Student Housing. I brought a lot and forgot a lot. I did get a few names. I hope I’m better tomorrow after being cold and tired most of the day today.
The end of March
Posted on: April 1, 2009
I can’t believe March is over and done with. I had another long day trudging along on less than 5 hours of sleep. Not sure how I did it, but I persevered. I think I injured my kidneys. The past two days were so busy that I wasn’t able to go to the bathroom as needed. My back ached. Thank goodness for acupunture. My acupuncurist works miracles, not to mention he can “feel” something is wrong by checking my pulse on my right and left wrist. He’s an amazing third generation Chinese medicine man.
I’m working on my taxes. I hope I can get this done without filing for an extension. 15 days left and counting…
